Born in 1978. Lokesh Anand one of the most outstanding Shehnai
player of India. He has the benefit of early initiation in the art of Shehnai
playing from his father Sh. Kalicharan Ji at the age
of Eight. Later he has received four years of intensive
training from Shehnai legends such as Pt. Anant Lal
Ji & Pt.Daya Shankarji from 1994 -1998. He has also been blessed and inspired by Pt. Rajendra Prasanna.
At Present he is under the care and strict guidance of “Sangeet
Martand Pandit Jasraj ji”. Association with Pandit ji has influenced Lokesh’s
music so much, that it has given a new direction to his repertoire which is a
blend of both Instrumental and Vocal styles.
Lokesh’s Shehnai playing is characterized by
an immaculate blowing and fingering techniques, command over Laya, Richness and
clarity of swaras. All this innate Artistry
and technical brilliance combined with a rare and exquisite emotional quality
has made him a unique Shehnai Player which differs from others.
He has completely revolutionized the technique and approach of Shehnai
Playing.
